GBR recognises the importance of responsible advocacy, public engagement, and constructive dialogue in contributing to informed communities and meaningful social development. All advocacy and public engagement undertaken by GBR, or by individuals representing GBR, must reflect the organisation’s values of integrity, respect, responsibility, truthfulness, accountability, and Christlike character.
The purpose of this policy is to establish clear standards for GBR’s participation in public discussions, community engagement, stakeholder relations, educational initiatives, advocacy activities, and interactions with public and private institutions.
GBR seeks to engage constructively and responsibly while ensuring that communications accurately represent the organisation’s approved objectives and positions.
GBR’s advocacy and public engagement should:
Only authorised representatives may make official statements, commitments, or representations on behalf of GBR.
Members, volunteers, and participants may express their personal views but must not present personal opinions as official GBR positions unless they have been specifically authorised to do so.
Individuals representing GBR publicly are expected to communicate accurately, respectfully, and within the scope of their authorised responsibilities.
GBR may participate in lawful public discussions, educational activities, policy forums, community initiatives, stakeholder engagements, and other activities that are consistent with its objectives.
Where political or public matters are discussed, GBR representatives should distinguish between factual information, organisational positions, and personal opinions.
GBR platforms, resources, and communication channels must not be used for harassment, intimidation, unlawful activity, or the deliberate distribution of false or misleading information.
GBR may engage with community organisations, businesses, government institutions, civil society organisations, professional bodies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders where such engagement supports legitimate GBR objectives.
All stakeholder engagements should be conducted professionally, transparently, and respectfully.
No individual may offer or accept improper benefits, preferential treatment, or personal advantages in connection with their representation of GBR.
Media enquiries relating to official GBR matters should be directed to an authorised representative.
Public statements, social media content, publications, presentations, and other communications issued on behalf of GBR must be accurate, respectful, and consistent with GBR’s approved communication standards.
Individuals must comply with the Communications & Digital Media Policy when communicating through GBR platforms.
Individuals involved in advocacy or public engagement on behalf of GBR must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest that could affect their responsibilities or representation of the organisation.
No individual may use GBR’s name, resources, position, relationships, or platforms for unauthorised personal, commercial, or political purposes.
GBR encourages engagement that promotes respectful dialogue, informed participation, community development, responsible leadership, collaboration, and constructive public discourse.
All members, volunteers, staff, and representatives participating in advocacy or public engagement are expected to uphold GBR’s standards of integrity, accountability, transparency, respect, and Christlike character.
